Swamp People

Every once and a while, mostly when nothing else is on, my husband watches Swamp People on the History Channel. Now doesn't that sound like an oxymoron? I hate this show so much but it's all kind of fueled by emotion--not as much by logic.

First of all, what in the world am I learning about history because I'm watching a whole bunch of hicks hunting alligators? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I am so confused and a little bit angry about all the shows the History Channel is airing now. One I do like for the most part, though, is Pawn Stars--but that's another story. Anyway, I have very little respect for the History Channel now because of the many non-educational shows they are offering now. Probably to boost their ratings. It's probably working but they're totally losing the whole point of their show. I'm pretty sure I get dumber after listening to how all these people on Swamp People talk. Quotes from tonight's episode:

"He just throwed up all on my boots."

Which brings me to another complaint...I can't even understand what they're saying half the time! They have to add freakin' subtitles to these people because they speak an entirely different language, which I can assure you is not English.

Most of the hunters are doing this as a family affair. They're out their with their sons, daughters and even grandsons in some cases. That's great...kind of. Except they end up swearing at each other like every other line because they rocked the boat or something stupid.

Overall, stupid show that makes me stupider.
